PhotoPlus Expo - Day 1 - Highlights

Here's a review of the first day of the PhotoPlus Expo, in New York City.
If you'd just like to watch one segment of the broadcast, with my introduction, those links are after the jump (yeah, it seems there's a limit to the number of players that can appear on a web page from Brightcove at the same time.)

Hi John,

Thanks for taking a few minutes to talk with me at the expo Thursday.

Yeah, the equipment is sexy, the new toys are always interesting and fun and seeing the greats of the industry is inspiring.

But by far what you and Jeff showed me with the new additions to the PLUS system of license generation and image rights tracking is among the most important things we photographers can take away from the show.

PLUS is going to help streamline the process of protecting the rights to your images, generating thorough, understandable and legally accurate paperwork and making one aspect of the business side of our craft so much easier.

There's no longer a need to "take what we're given" from a client. WE can be the ones generating the terms of our license!

Everyone needs to get on board with PLUS!

And your new assignment construct section is great too.

John,

Thanks for the report. I attended your seminar on Thursday but didn't get a chance to thank you personally for the great job you did at sharing some very important information with us. I am primarily a wedding photographer but am doing more commercial/assignment work lately and have felt that there must be a better way to make money with my photography. Now I know how and need to put it into practice.

Keep up the great work.

THANKS!!!!
