I was ignored, emails went unanswered, promises were broken again and again and I didn't get paid for more than a year. At one point she even sent me a personal check for the job which bounced. She lied to me numerous times. I have been working with them for over a year now, and it has only been a pleasure.

-baBrian Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09275680150833805831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553278593406733377.post-54458042782371744312009-11-17T11:30:36.751-05:002009-11-17T11:30:36.751-05:00Seriously, John- if you ever want to write up a bl...Seriously, John- if you ever want to write up a blog post about the nightmare business practices of Rapport Press, call me up. I can give you an earful and then give you the names of dozens of other photographers who will also tell you their tales of woe. Rapport's issues with non-payment, lies, excuses and communication blackouts are practically criminal. To see that they're still in business at all and selling cover art to Newsweek is just sickening.Melissa Goldenhttp://www.melissagolden.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553278593406733377.post-10542178361747660912009-11-17T09:18:01.193-05:002009-11-17T09:18:01.193-05:00Since you brought up Rapport, it would be interest...Since you brought up Rapport, it would be interesting to know whether Adam's has been paid by Ms. Price. There are some interesting comments showing up around the net regarding lack of payment and non-existent communication from Rapport.

Here are a few examples:
http://www.lightstalkers.org/be-warned-of-rapport-press-and-its-owner-kelly-price and http://www.digitaljournalist.org/issue0911/common-cents-nobody-population-too-darned-many.html (see "the bad")

Now that is out of the way, I had a discussion recently with a photog regarding the same topic as your post. I find it interesting that Runners would commission a shoot and the allow re-licensing of the material, but I applaud them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
