If I didn't pay my sub-contractors for work they did in a good amount of time, I'd get hammers thrown through my windows and I wouldn't get any subs to work for me. That said, I've been the boss and the worker and I know what it's like as a freelance. Is it ...That's pretty low for a company to do. Is it possible for freelancers to include a clause in any contracts of theirs that Time Warner signs that states a penalty for late payment? And then when Time Warner doesn't want to pay the photographer's late fee, to take them to court if necessary? What kind of steps could a freelance photographer do to protect themselves from this kind of screw-over?Hockeysnowboardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02680880803309572795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553278593406733377.post-82107154261749660932009-12-04T15:06:35.559-05:002009-12-04T15:06:35.559-05:00That is a sad reflection of the values of TimeWarn...That is a sad reflection of the values of TimeWarner. I run my own business which employes 10 full time people and 5 or so freelancers and I put a priority on doing the best I can for both the people who work for me and the freelancers who I commission work from. So much so that I like to pay freelancers in particular within 7 days.... and I still manage to run a business that can make a good profit for me. I believe that business should values which cares for the people who work in and around the business as well as for the shareholders. In fact I think it makes for a more sustainable and successful business in the long term.Steve Colemanhttp://www.lightinframe.comnoreply@blogger.com
