Gimme a break the AP guys have just as good talent and they've been shooting longer than any of you all and then some. I mean the way cameras are made today ANYBODY can shoot editorial images be it sports, entertainemnt, news. The NFL aren't greedy they are smart while the AP did exactly what Getty has done to everyone the last 5-7 years. Listen folks, you can't have your cake and eat it too. The issue is the NFL - now that AP has the NFL License, you would think the bean counter would have taken a look at the products and history of the organizations involved.
Who cares if the AP already have the local affiliates in place which will help very little in the reduction of costs. Compared to the contributors at no cost.
Who cares that the photos are out of focus and the editorials are biased. Who cares the AP Web site is about 5 years behind the times. Who cares if the NFL would risk losing their analog history???
Unfortunately the NFL doesn't care about these things....
Maybe its time for the NFL to get what they pay for. Obviously money is the most important issue to them. They could care less of the quality or the service of the commercial patrons. Its all about the money. Hell its the NFL - Have a beer, hot dog and bend over.
It's going to get worse.....uThinkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09367680927646572775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553278593406733377.post-42852320893960312672009-04-12T11:30:00.000-04:002009-04-12T11:30:00.000-04:00Look for Getty to lay-off even more sales and staf...Look for Getty to lay-off even more sales and staff over the next few months ( remember June 1st people)

With the loss of the NFL and NCAA contracts, Getty's time has come and the game is over. Yes, the AP is a slow, turtle like group that is finally coming around and have a long way to go ( please AP images make a new website it's terrible!) but FINALLY someone else can challenge Getty and beat them at the game they created.

The Getty sports photographers are a great group of people but in the end it was probably a cost saver in terms of flying people all over the country , support staff for Getty and now that AP has the NFL they already have the local affiliates in place which will help reduce costs and increase profit margins.

Look for the NBA, PGA and MLB contracts to be challenged as well. The universe is finally being balanced out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7553278593406733377.post-2234289015671391292009-04-11T19:10:00.000-04:002009-04-11T19:10:00.000-04:00Getty continues to sink.
